A humble and cerebral professional, Clement Ofuani is an acclaimed policy essayist and experienced public administrator and politician.

Clement is a keen sportsman and was for many years the Chairman of Delta State Squash Racket Association where he encouraged a lot of young players through sponsorship of tournaments.
He is an alumnus of Federal Government College, Enugu and the University of Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Second Class Upper, in Accountancy. He also attended the University of Lagos where he obtained a Master of Banking and Finance degree.

Clement T. Ofuani, FCA is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, with over twenty seven (27) years experience in banking, financial consulting, auditing, corporate finance, public policy formulation, economic planning, operations research and management, across different economic sectors in Nigeria.

Ofuani has had extensive experience in public sector accounting and consulting across several industries. After working with Deloitte, he joined Devcom Merchant Bank, Lagos, as a Banking officer and rose rapidly to the position of Senior Manager and Head of Operations at Devcom Merchant Bank, Lagos, within a span of six years.

Mr Ofuani started his public service experience as Special Assistant to Delta State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning and four years later was appointed the pioneer Commissioner for Economic Planning in Delta State, a position he held for four years. He was subsequently appointed Economic Adviser to the Governor of Delta State for a brief period and at the request of the President and Commander in Chief, he resigned this position to take up appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Policy to President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and later became the Senior Special Assistant on Presidential Matters to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. While serving as a top government functionary, he served as the Chairman of Asaba and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and once again left an impressive legacy that has endured till date.

After many years of service to his state and country, Clement Ofuani returned to the private sector in June 2011, where he is currently, the Principal Partner of Ofuani Maidoh & Co. (Chartered Accountants), Chairman of Prosure Insurance Brokers Limited, Chairman, Assets Microfinance Bank Limited and a Director in several other companies, with interests in shipping, rail transportation and electricity infrastructure.
